When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 450°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.

Shape the ground beef into 6 burger patties and generously season with salt and pepper.

Place the burger patties directly on the grill grates. Close the lid and cook for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for 4 minutes longer for medium, or to your desired temperature. Place a slice of cheese on top of each burger during the last minute of cooking.

Flip the burgers and cook for 4 minutes longer (for a medium burger, adjust cook time to your desired doneness), topping each with cheese in the last minute of cooking. Remove the burgers from grill and let rest for 2 minutes.

Place the burgers on the buns and top with butter lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices, along with any desired condiments. Enjoy!
