This sweet Hawaiian burger recipe packs Big Island flavor into a backyard classic. Switch things up, and impress your guests, at your next BBQ with a burger that will blow their minds.

1 Pound | ground beef |
4 Tablespoon | teriyaki sauce of choice, plus more for serving |
1/4 Cup | panko breadcrumbs |
As Needed | Traeger Jerky Rub |
4 Slices | pepper jack cheese |
4 | hamburger buns |
1 Head | butter lettuce |

When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 400˚F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes. For optimal results, set to 500°, if available.

With a sharp knife on a cutting board, remove the skin from the pineapple, then core and slice it into 1/4-inch rounds.

Slice the onion into 1/4-inch rounds, and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, and pepper.

In a medium bowl, add the ground beef, teriyaki sauce, panko, and Traeger Jerky Rub. Mix to combine, and form into 4 equal patties.

Place the burger patties, pineapple, and onion directly on the grill grates. Close the lid and cook the burgers, pineapple, and onion for 5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, add cheese to the burgers and toast the buns if desired.

Remove the burgers, pineapple, and onions from the grill. Build the burgers. Start with the bottom bun and top with lettuce, the burger patty, grilled onion, and grilled pineapple. Drizzle with more teriyaki sauce and the top bun. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
