Cranberry sauce on a Traeger? You betcha. Throw a touch of smoke into this best supporting actor contender on Turkey Day.

1 Whole | orange, zested and reserved |
2 | bags cranberries, defrosted if frozen |
1/2 Cup | granulated sugar |
2 Whole | star anise |
1 Whole | cinnamon stick |
1/4 Cup | simple syrup |
Step 1
When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 450°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.

Step 2
Roast the orange. Cut the zested orange in half, place cut-side down on the grill, and cook for 10 minutes, until juicy. Remove from the grill.

In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange zest, sugar, star anise, Traeger Simple Syrup, and cinnamon stick. Squeeze the orange juice into the pan.

2 Whole star anise
1 Whole cinnamon stick
1/4 Cup simple syrup
Step 4
Place pan over medium heat and cook, allowing the berries to open up and the sauce to thicken, about 10-15 minutes.

Remove from the heat, cool, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Enjoy!
