When ready to cook, set the Traeger temperature to 375°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.

Form the meat into 6 (8oz) patties and season both sides with Traeger Beef Rub.

Insert the probe horizontally into the center of a burger patty. Place the burgers directly on the grill grates. Close the lid and cook for 4 minutes, flip the patties and cook until the internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium, or desired doneness, 2 minutes.

Place the red onions directly on the grill grates next to the burgers. Close the lid and cook for 8 minutes total, flipping halfway through.

Top the burgers with cheese and cook until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes. If desired, place the buns cut-side-down directly on the grill grates and toast, 1-2 minutes.

Remove the burgers, onions, and buns from the grill. Assemble as double burgers with the grilled onions, bacon, and Traeger Sweet & Heat BBQ Sauce. Enjoy!
