Warm and flakey apple turnovers are mouth-wateringly enticing. Take this sweetness to a pot-luck for a win. This whoppingly flavorful, smoked apple dessert is not to be dismissed.

In a large bowl, mix the flour and butter together until it resembles cornmeal, then add the water, combine.

After they have been combined wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

While the dough is chilling, peel, core, and slice the apples, and then combine them with the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and salt.

When ready to cook, set the Traeger to 325℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Lightly dust the cutting board with flour, roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thick round. Place the apple mixture in the center. Fold in the corners.

Next, brush the top of the tart with milk and then sprinkle it with Turbinado sugar.

Transfer it to a sheet pan that has been lined with parchment, or you can put the parchment directly on the grill.

Bake the turnover for 25 to 30 minutes.
