As an accomplished angler and co-captain of Gatecrasher Fishing Adventures, Virginia Salvador spends her days reeling in her next catch. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Virginia also has a background as a biologist and published scientist. When she’s not on the water, you’ll find her creating memories and mouthwatering meals with her two sons.

First (or best) cooking lesson you learned by trial and error?

While cooking chicken breasts can be challenging at times to cook, I’ve had a lot of trial and error cooking them but after a lot of trial and error, it’s one of my favorite things to grill.

Strangest food you’ve eaten or cooked?

Dinuguan is a Filipino savory stew usually of pork offal and/or meat simmered in a rich, spicy dark gravy of pig blood, garlic, chili and vinegar.
