Steps

  • 1

Preheat the Traeger with the lid closed to 375°F; this will take about 15 minutes.

    375 ˚F / 191 ˚C

  • 2

Season the pork roast liberally with Traeger Pork & Poultry Rub. Let sit at room temperature while the grill heats. Wrap each tip of the crown roast in a small piece of aluminum foil. This will protect the bones during the cook and prevent them from turning black.

  • 3

Place the roast directly on the grill grate and cook for about 90 minutes spritzing with apple juice every 30 minutes or so.

    375 ˚F / 191 ˚C

  • 4

When the roast reaches an internal temperature of 125°F, remove the aluminum foil from the bones and return to the grill.

    375 ˚F / 191 ˚C

    125 ˚F / 52 ˚C

  • 5

Spray again with apple juice and continue to cook until the internal temperature reaches 135°F in the thickest part of the roast. In the last ten minutes, baste the roast with the Apricot BBQ Sauce to let the glaze set.

    375 ˚F / 191 ˚C

    135 ˚F / 57 ˚C

  • 6

Remove from the grill, tent with foil, and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
