This dessert is Southern country comfort in a cast iron. Fresh berries are mixed with orange juice and baked until bubbly under a homemade biscuit topping.

1/2 Cup | plus 4 tablespoons granulated sugar |
1/3 Cup | orange juice |
2/3 Cup | all-purpose flour |
3/4 Teaspoon | baking powder |
1 Pinch | Salt |
1/2 Cup | butter, softened |
1 Large | egg |
1/2 Teaspoon | vanilla extract |
1 Tablespoon | raw sugar |
As Needed | whipped cream, for serving |
Step 1
When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 350℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Step 2
In a 10-inch cast iron or other baking pan, mix together the berries, 4 tablespoons sugar, and orange juice.

In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar with an electric hand mixer on medium speed until fluffy, 3-4 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and beat on medium speed to combine. Gradually fold in the flour mixture with a rubber spatula until just incorporated.

Spoon the batter on top of the berries and sprinkle raw sugar on top.

Place the cast iron skillet on the grill grates. Close the lid and bake the cobbler until the berries are bubbling and the topping is golden brown, 35-45 minutes.

Remove the cobbler from the grill. Let cool slightly, then serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!
