Nothin's more American than apple pie. In honor of National Pie Day, we're giving a traditional homemade pie recipe the Traeger twist. Adding a layer of wood-fired flavor is just what Uncle Sam ordered.

1 Tablespoon | cornstarch |
1 Whole | refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box |
1/4 Cup | peach preserves |

When ready to cook, set Traeger to 375℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

In a medium bowl, mix apples, sugar, and cornstarch and set aside.

Unroll pie crust. Place in an ungreased pie pan.

With the back of a spoon, spread the preserves evenly on the crust.

Arrange the apple slices in an even layer in the pie pan. Slightly fold the crust over the filling.

Place a baking sheet upside down on the grill grate to make an elevated surface. Put the pan with pie on top so it is elevated off the grill. (This will help prevent the bottom from overcooking.)

Cook the pie for 30 to 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Remove from grill and cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
