Grilled Ahi Tuna Sliders

Grilled Ahi Tuna Sliders

By Traeger Kitchen

This first-rate fish gets a quick soak in sesame oil, soy sauce, and spicy red pepper flakes to start, then basks in hardwood smoke, supercharging the marinade. Grill it up right and throw it on a bun with brown sugared pineapple and creamy avocado for a macho meal, grilled for the gods.

Units of measurement:
main
1 Teaspoon sesame oil
1 Teaspoon soy sauce
1 Teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 Teaspoon garlic, crushed
1 Teaspoon onion powder
2 Whole Tuna Filet, 8 oz each, sushi grade
To Taste pineapple
To Taste brown sugar
12 Whole Buns, Slider
2 Tablespoon mayonnaise
As Needed lettuce
As Needed Avocado, Sliced

Step

  • 1

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper flakes, garlic, and onion powder. Pour the mixture over the tuna filets, and refrigerate.

  • 2

When ready to cook, set temp to High (450F) and preheat, lid closed (10 to 15 minutes).

  • 3

To sear, place the filets on the front edge of the grill until there are grill marks, then flip and move to the center and cook 3-5 more minutes. Dont overcook it! Tuna is best when it is medium rare, to medium.

  • 4

While the tuna is cooking, sprinkle the pineapple with brown sugar and grill towards the front of the grill until you see grill marks.

  • 5

Remove the fish and pineapple; build the burger as follows: bottom bun, mayo, lettuce, tuna, grilled pineapple, avocado, and top bun. Enjoy!
