What is a pellet grill?

Pellet grlls run on 100% all-natural hardwood pellets, not gas or charcoal. Think of it as the ultimate combo of an oven and a grill—perfect for smoking, roasting, baking, grilling, or searing anything. Since inventing the Traeger wood pellet grill 40 years ago, we’ve been delivering consistently better flavor with every cook.

How do pellet grills work?

Our wood pellet grills do the heavy lifting. The auger feeds pellets from the hopper to the fire pot, where the HotRod ignites them to fuel that signature wood-fired flavor. A fan circulates heat and smoke for even cooking, while the drip tray prevents flare-ups. The controller keeps the temperature dialed in, so you can focus on what matters—good times, not grill babysitting.

What type of pellets should I use?

For the best grilling results, always use Traeger 100% pure hardwood pellets. They’re crafted with no fillers, binders, or additives and deliver consistent, clean burns for precise performance. With rigorous quality control and perfected smoke science, Traeger pellets produce just the right amount of flavorful smoke to enhance your food without overpowering it. Choose from a variety of flavors like Signature Blend, Hickory, or Apple to match your cook and elevate every bite.

Can you sear on the Woodridge?

Absolutely! This grill holds and maintains high temperatures at the grills grates to give you that savory crust on your food. If you’re cooking low and slow, try putting your food on the upper racks for best results.

Will everything taste super smoky?

Everything tastes better cooked over wood and the Woodridge let’s you have complete control over smoke. Not all temperatures are equal. The higher the temps, the less smoke will be produced. Food cooked between 165° - 225° will produce more smokin’ flavor to fit your tastebuds than those cooked at higher temps.

Can I use the Woodridge without being connected to the Internet?

You can, but we’ve put in the work, so you don’t have to. Not only does WiFIRE allow for precision temperature control from anytime or anywhere, but having a connected grill means that you receive regular software updates sent over the air that power the best performance in your grill, just like with your smartphone.

Is the Woodridge a beginner friendly grill?

All Traeger's are designed to be easy to use, but we took it a step further on the new Woodridge with the new display. All you have to do is set your desired cooking temp, put your food in the grill and it'll do the rest for you

What is the highest temperature on the dial?

The temperature range on all the Woodridge Grills is from 180°F to 500°F.

How can you bake on the Woodridge?

Yes! Every Traeger grill operates as a convection oven which means that any recipe that calls for an oven can be cooked on your pellet grill.

What makes the Woodridge unique to other Traeger models?

We've taken 40 years of experience to make this grill. Not only does it have unique features like a full-color digital controller display, P.A.L. Rails, staging hooks for cleaning, and an RTD instead of a thermocouple for temperature accuracy, but you'll also see features from the Timberline and Ironwood series on this grill at a lower price point. Additional differences between the three Woodridge Series grills include:

Woodridge Pro has a folding side shelf and a bottom shelf.

Woodridge Elite has a cabinet and an electric side burner.

Woodridge Pro and Elite have two additional buttons on the controller: Super Smoke and Keep Warm. This is the first time Traeger is offering Super Smoke on a model under $1,000
