Nail National Oyster Day with this recipe from Journey South. Start with a sautéed mixture of onion, bell peppers, garlic and lemon juice. Add in some Traeger Chicken Rub and white wine and let this sauce make those oysters sing.

2 | lemons |
3 Teaspoon | dried thyme |
3 | dried bay leaves |
5 Tablespoon | garlic, minced |
3 Tablespoon | Traeger Chicken Rub |
3 Tablespoon | Worcestershire sauce |
5 Tablespoon | Hot Pepper Sauce |
1/4 Cup | white wine |
4 | Butter, Sticks |
12 Whole | Oysters, shucked |
As Needed | Italian Cheese Blend |

When ready to cook, set grill temperature to High and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Preheat olive oil in cast iron pan over medium heat. Chop onion and bell peppers and place in preheated pan.

Juice lemons into sauté pan. Add thyme, bay leaves, garlic, and mix in the Traeger Chicken Rub.

Sauté the vegetable mixture until onions are translucent and peppers have softened about 5-7 minutes .

Add the Worcestershire Sauce and hot sauce. Add white wine and 4 sticks of butter. Sauté for another 15 minutes.

While the sauce is simmering, clean and shuck the oysters leaving them in the bottom of the shell.

Place oysters on Traeger and top with the sauce. Cook for 5 minutes.

Top with Italian cheese and serve. Enjoy!
